SSD's aren't really expensive nowadays! I didn't expect them to be so cheap though. I looked on other websites and the price is about the same as the price on that website.

Only somewhat reason for it would be that it's an older model as now there is already a Vertex 4.

I was looking at this very SSD on ebay last night for the same price.

Something was telling me not to buy it though but this is overclockers with a guarantee...not ebay!

Then i was slightly confused with sata and sata 2. But apparently its only transfer speed and would make a difference unless transferring from one ssd to another.

Glad u posted this as its on my to do list for next payday. Ł30 is cheap but then would want a 2.5 to 3.5 bay converter to mount in ma PC so i best get looking.

Just read the reviews and this one comes with a mounting drive for PC's apparently.

it does come with a 3.5" bay. Some cases have issues with mounting it though, something about holes not being aligned on some cases.

About the SATA 1/2/3

SATA1(150) does 1.5gbit/sec
SATA2(300) does 3gbit/sec
SATA3(600) does 6gbit/sec

doing a quick check on a review it should be doing about 3.2gbit/sec so, if you have SATA2 you should be limited a bit, even though this is the best case scenario. Should probably check the manual/the box of motherboard to see what you have.

EDIT: and here you have a funky chart on what speed it's getting.

Its a really good, SSD. Didnt come with a bracket but its so light i just put screws in one side of the ssd and it held it fine.

Boots to desktop in around 12 secs but someone i know works as a tech support and he has windows 7 down to a 2gb package...usually 20gb+ so he has stripped all the crap from it and its basically fast as....his boots to desktop in less than 8 sec's
