what overclocking experiences have you had, i'd like to hear :D

i got my duron 800 to 950

my duron 1.1 to 1.23

and my athlon xp 1800 to 2000 @ 1.65

what bout joo?

also does anyone have any tips they'd like to share?

i got my duron 850 to 1050 or summit like that then it kinda fried a bit :D

i have never overclocked anything b4. Mainly cos im lazy and cba unlocking my chips. :/

My m8 bruno overclocks Athy 1800+'s to 2400+s and sells them on ebay...

i got my 1.4 T-Bird to 1.65 and it seemed to run stable, but the heat was getting a bit high for air cooled so i lowered it back down. I unlocked it using the pencil trick and it came in usefull every now and then, for example a m8 had his bios settings wrong for his chip, the cmos wouldn't clear and he couldn't afford to wait for long with the cmos battery cleared (takes a few hours) so i put my 1.4 in and undid all the settings and job done :)

 

i've got my 2100 but thats not going to be over clocked. I'd b interested to hear more about your duron OCin experiances tho fist - i got a 1.1 and worst case senario it will cost £25 to replace now.

well, to unlock a duron i think its the same as the old athlon, just connect the l2 cache or something wit a lead pencil,was ages ago when i unlocked.

I havnt unlocked my 1800, as well im too scared :o alot harder than the older AMD chips, perhaps when i got a bit more money eh lol

im just too lazy to overclock tbh - its a hassle and all i would b doin would b increasing my fps on cs frmo 99.8 to 99.9...

1800s are cheap now... about £40 last time i checked... although i guess if u fried ur mobo along with it then that could b expensive!

lol :P if your just changing the fsb on the motherboard i find it alright, it either works or doesnt. and if it doesnt quick reset of the cmos and it works fine.

its when you start pissin around wit the multiplyer it gets dodgy :/ increasing the voltage etc worked on my soltek motherboard wit my duron 800.

when i changed multiplyer on my nForce mobo wit my duron 1.1, windows cocked up strangly and had to format, happened several times, so i just upped the fsb.

and well i cant even change the multiplyr on this bent motherboard, i had to flash it so i could even change the fsb :'(
