I've been playing in the Open Beta of Age of Conan the past days and Iv'e been really enjoying it, I thought I post some screenshot for you guys to have a look.
The way this beta works is, that it gives you up to level 13 of the game, and you on this singeplayer/multiplayer island of Tortage where you will be until you are level 20, where you will go out to the real multiplayer world, the first 20 levels are heavily singelplayer based, but also have multiplayer stuff, so it's a mix between both.
Anyway here is a few screenshots from when I've been playing, and no there is no NDA in the open beta, so I'm not breaking any rules ;)
The screens are a bit dark, they are not that ingame.. weird.
This is was my first character a Stygian Demonlogist.
I've created a new one (same class) because one of the destiny quest would not launch.

Yep, it is brutal ;0
One thing I absolutely loved about this game was the voice acting and the harsh replies you could do, I had to rescue a woman at a whore house in one point in the game ;D

Mini map and spell bar - stolen from wow also the chat window.
The actual look of the game looks remarkably like Everquest 2.
Doesnt look very original.
Griz , just buy wow m8 .

Theres plenty of cleavage in wow , Demon plays wow .

Sigh, WoW was not the first mmo , and every game has stolen from each other.
Minimap and spell bar? Why would they choose something else when every other game has it, even singeplayer games? And where would they put it? The minimap, even that they had for ages not in just onlinegames, it works. I don't know how else they would change it.
To be honest, you have stuff that makes this games unique, and it's not really just the graphics.
- You can choose where you can attack, front, front left, front right back etc They all play an active roll because they enemy (and you) can actually defend yourself by raising you shield right left and front. There is no auto-attack so people actually have to attack themself, which is a good thing :)
- Mounted combat, at level 40 you get mounts and you can actually fight using them. Be it running down and enemy shooting down with arrows while your on them, or even use them as a ram buck and take down buildings.
- Spellweaving, As a spellcaster there is something called spellweaving. When you use it, it puts into this trance like stat, and you can combine up to twenty spells into one huge spell for massive damage and effects. But it's dangerous to use it, bad sideeffects might happen.
- Combo, as a meele character you can put different actions into a combo bar, and it gives you special attacks when your combing different combos etc.
- Siege combat, guilds can build huge fortress cities and defend them. And other guild can attack them with siege weapons like catapults etc.
- Brawl fight, you can get drunk and start a brawl fight in a bar, which gives you own unique brawl points ^^
- Storyelined quests, this is nothing new for the newest games, Lotro has them. But I don't think WoW does? Anyway instead of feeling that your are a nobody in a big world, you proper storylined quest (called Destiny quests) where you actually feel you are a part of something.
- Voice acting, every quest so far have voice acting. But that might be only to level 20. You have brilliant voice acting, which is also a pluss side :)
- The quest themself are very good, nothing of these "Kill 100 wolfs" quest for no reason. They are very good explained and they all kinda makes sence.
- The world it self is awesome, animals are killing other animals. Other tribes are killing other tribes. People go in by night, other comes out at night. It's actually quite cool seeing npc's fighting among themself ^^
- Ok, I just can't not mention it. But the Graphics are the BEST you would see in any online game for now, the water effects are gorgeous, the model detail of the characters and monsters are great. And the world seems very alive. I need a new computer, because I want to run this baby on high ^^
- And another thing, it's a MATURE rated game, 18+. So, hopefully we won't see all these kids running around in other games screaming etc. You see heads get chopped off, you see nudity, harsh language, violence etc. And it's all true to Howard books (not the movies).
I've have only played to level 12 (max is level 13 in the beta) So, I've only seen the beginner place, Tortage. When you reach level 20 you go the to main part. And thats where the fun begins :)

i would agree with womble, as he has a valid point...
however, that would be a bit contradictory, as i'd have to buy it then, so i'm pretty much negating all reason for me posting this, errr, imma shurrup now :/

I admit it interested me, particularly the day/night features with diff activities goin on.
The siege thing was also of interest.
I have a beta key osmewhere, but im lazy so wouldnt try it. Its interesting, but just not interesting enough, since ifi played and liked it, id have to buy it :P
Hey Grizz, have you applied for stargate online's beta yet ?
I applied already...but im not too hopefull. When they opened the registrations at night (uk time anyway.) 65k people sighned up overnight :(
I get beta invits from just about every crap game (and the odd good one) so i better get this one. I might actually buy it if its good.

I paid 15 $ (fileplanet subscription) to be in this beta, and I've pre-ordered Collectors Edtion AND paid 3 day start time for it :D
So, dont think I will have time to be in any beta when I get it :P

I just signed up on various websites ages ago that get you betas. MMORPG is one of them, then theres this wierd site i cant remember signing up to but somehow get random emails asking me to beta test this that and the other.
A shame. Stargate is looking to be a tactical FPS MMO. Going to have a ton to do.

They had an "Epic Ending" to the open beta this weekend, where all your characters had the option to level to 20 by using an item, and all the servers turned into PVP-Freeforall, which was a mayhem. But the biggest thing is that they released the whole world, so you could travel anywhere, which was hard because you got killed ANYWHERE in the world, but still fun.
Here are some screenshot from one of the new cities, most beautiful city I've ever seen.
There is the item we got to level to 20, with all the good equipment.
Details on characters, are amazing. Look at all that pretty bump mapping =D
Anyway, the games comes out in 6 days yay! :D
