1. Editorial

Welcome to the first ever |SFH| Sent From Hell newsletter!

We at |SFH| felt it would be worth sending out a quarterly news piece for all of the people  who have registered on our site over the past 4.5 years and may still like to know that we're alive and kicking! For those of you to whom this is a bit of a blast from the past, if so, feel free to drop by the forums and say hello!

Also, can I just remind everyone that we are currently not only recruiting for all clan sections, but we are also very interested in other clans merging with us as we have the resources (servers, site, vent etc) to supply. If you have another game you wish to merge with |SFH| (esp in a game we dont already cover), or a game you wish to start a clan for, then please contact us via the recruitment forums and we will be happy to discuss your ideas!

2. News

Whats been happening with |SFH| in the past few months then?

Servers - Well, for a start we recently co-located our own dedicated clan server at the Blue Square data centre in Maidenhead through Poundhost Internet LLP. We have started off with a simple Compaq DL380 G2 (Dual 1.26ghz + 2.5GB RAM) as a test rig and once we're sure that we're happy with the connection we will be replacing it with a more powerful box (Intel Core 2 Duo with lots of RAM) so we can run more clan servers for more games!

Ventrilo - Due to some personal stuff, scotz wont be about for a bit and is no longer able to provide our vent server. I would just like to take this opportunity to say thank you to scotz for supporting us all this time! We have now purchased our own from gameservers and the details can be found in the ventrilo sticky in the clan forums!

Games - We have formed a number of new clan sections covering a variety of games, for which we are recruiting heavily right now!

Battlefield 2142
================
Led by [D]esert Punk, this new clan section is up and running and we will hopefully be providing them with a clan server in early January! One of our newest members, creative101, has kindly offered to assist Des in getting things moving and we are actively recruiting now. As soon as the numbers are up we will be looking to enter a squad in the new EnemyDown.co.uk BF 2142 ladder!

Company of Heroes
=================
We now have a fully fledged Company of Heroes Clan section! This section is under the skillful leadership of Mkoll who is currently scouting for new players. He is being backed up by Mojo as RTS Coach and pica as our resident COH God! :)

There is currently a lack of decent COH ladders/competitions so work is already underway for |SFH| to form their own RTS Ladder site to cover games such as DoW and COH - more news coming soon!

Dawn of War
===========
Due to the popularity of Dawn of War : Winter Assault and now Dark Crusade within the clan and elsewhere, |SFH| started a Dawn of War Clan section in Feb this year. Things were quiet for a few months but since the release of Dark Crusade, we have become highly active in this arena and have recruited a number of new members including a couple of sound lads from down under, The Sentin3l and Onimasha, and having attended i29 (where we pwned of course), we have another new member in the form of Magicparasite. Welcome all!

Things are going from strength to strength with the DoW squad and we are still actively recruiting players of all abilities... DoW practices are at 10pm every Monday night, so feel free to come along!

Star Wars Galaxies Guild
========================
Work was undertaken by Scotzman to get the guild up and running and it is well on its way! The |SFH| city of Macduff has been created on the planet of Dantooine (cords: -2500 -6300) on the European - FarStar Server. A large number of structures have already been completed including a bank and a cantina (The Bantha Bar - beautifully decorated by Womble)!. We will also shortly have a shuttle port and mining facilities! Richie has now taken over as guild leader and is doing a sterling job!

Upcoming

DoD : Source - Shadetail has offered to run a full DoD: Source section on his completion of his exams early next year! More news coming soon...

COD2 - We have had an offer from another clan who wish to merge with us with and form a COD2 clan section. We are currently looking into the feasability of running a COD2 server on our existing kit.

World of Warcraft - If you have an existing WOW guild but no vent, site, etc we are very keen to supply as we have several members playing this game! If you are interested, please contact us via the recruitment forums...

4. Fund Raising

For the past 4 years we have been providing quality public gaming servers including CS1.6, CSS, DoD, DoD:Source, and BF2. The only way we can continue to do this is through the support of the community, and that means you!

If you have a couple of pounds to spare and wish to help |SFH| continue to supply quality servers in future, please help us by donating whatever you can...
