Well ive told a few peeps about this already but now that its all sorted i can tell u all...

some how, i have no idea how, my quakenet login got haxd.

the bastard managed to get my password, they logged into qnet as me ( i spotted him doinj it about 5 mnins after it all happened :/ )

He then removed all channel ownerships from our chan and gave himself owner.

I then had to sit in #feds for about 8 hrs til an op eventually returned and sorted it for me. When the fed did he said we had too many users added to the Q so i have had to remove all our +av's... i havent decided yet what to do but im thinking that maybe all people on trial get +av and everyone else stays without voice or summat... ill have a think about it and get back 2 u all.

Anyway, moral of the story is, i am very VERY secure with my pwds and im behind a strong linux firewall and i still got haxed and i have no idea how...

how can you have to many ppl connected to q? soooo many other chans have it. also what about those clans with 50 ops? and if L can do it why cant Q cope better as that is the 'better' service?

suggestion - get an SFH bot hosted from one of ur boxes alex and have him control +av's ?

thats what i was thinkin of doin but it would need to b able to recognise Q auths...

anyway its not that Q cant handle that many, its cos if u have that many (so called excessive numbers of users) then you can have ur Q removed from ur channel, and considering they dont give out Qs anymore i dont want to do anything to risk losing the Q as L is sh*te as a sh*te thing...

i dont think its that cos i have a linux firewall on my front end however ive now blocked port 135 neway...

Why not just have all your ports running on stealth mode?
I do, and i never get haxxored on my Symentec firewall.

i do, but ive now blocked all incoming AND outgoing traffic on that port and set flags to c if nething tries to get in or out on it.
