It's not sooo bad, as long as you take care of yourself...like you said: no more sweeties!
(also alcohol can be a bit of a problem...and you're gonna have to start exercising - me mum's a diabetic)

agree with mojo, i know a fair few diabetics, its not as bad as that, unless its the wrong type. simply means, you have to give up, sugary drinks and foods, you need to do a fair amount of exercise, like walking, swimming, cycling, i dont know, but not sitting in fron of the PC all day, take the medication regually and you wont notice too much of a difference, you may even lose a bit of weight you heffer!!!!
dont worry about, stress isnt a good thing either. i would advise you throw away all of the things that you cant have that way the family have to suffer as well!!

u will prob have type B diabetis, which aint that bad, u will need to look after diet, but u can still have sweets etc...

Type 2 diabeties is just as bad as type 1 and you still cannot eat sweets.
Look after your diet, eat in moderation (the odd bit of choc, etc) and make sure you run away from demon when he comes a calling. That should keep you in shape. Or so my gf tells me....
