I’ve just had a clever idea for saving literally hours (well alright, seconds) of time for quick-thinking hard-working computer geniuses all over the world like me.
My boss has three computers on his desk set up like a control station – a Mac G4 on the left, a Mac G5 with Cinemas Display in the middle and a PC on the right. I have a similar setup, but just a G5 and a PC. We’re constantly switching between the computers all day, depending on what we’re working on (PC for web stuff, Mac for Print etc.)
And this is where the clever idea comes in... one mouse and keyboard for the whole setup. Both wireless. Both with a simple button that switches them between machines.
Think of the desk space saved alone! It’s GENIUS! It’s the best idea since somebody went ‘This bread is a bit difficult to eat in one big chunk – lets cut it up a bit.’ IT’S BRILLIANT! Think about it – you know it makes sense!
Now I’ve done the hard work coming up with the idea, one of you guys can make it work and sell the concept to Logitech, and this time next year we’ll all be MILLIONAIRES! WOO HOO!

So we're not going to be millionaires then.
Bastards!
I did think of extending it to the video, but I knew that was already done, and anyway, I prefer to still use two monitors.
And I don't know what KVM is, but the real question is, whatever it is that does currently work, is it cross-compatible between both Mac and PC? That's the clever bit.

with out my two monitors at home.
at my last job I had two widescreen LCD's one portate and the other land scape :)
but at the IT job I only have 2 machines, with 1 monitor keyboard and mouse. the only way to use my other machine is via VNC.
So thank god for laptops :D
