I was kinda thinkin of gettin me a xbox 360. I think its pretty neat looking, good features like portable HDD and wireless controller. However i just recently got a official mag of xbox 360, just to see exactly what it can do. Everywhere in the mag it had "the graphics will rock". But it didnt, when i played the DVD which had some in gamge footage, i seriously thought the graphics were as good as i expected them to be. They are better then the old xbox and ps2, but still not alot better, or was it that i just expected too much.
What do you guys think?
Oh, and if i will get a xbox 360, then i would definately have to get a 30 inch HD LCD or Plasma TV, any suggestions on that?

the XBOX 360 is just this generation of PC in a small box.
So no don't expect huge things from the GFX, and because how MS will push the thing expect nothing but sequals.
the PS3 should have some more oringal stuff, so it should be cool.
and Nintendo's REV is the only one that has done something differant for the next gen consoles. If it works or not we will find out.
If you do decide to get a 360 wait awhile, it's WAY to over priced for what it is.

yeah, well the xbox will have good graphics much better than any previous console, but ps3 will even have better graphics if that whats your looking for, but as gouldfish said.. xbox is very very overpriced, especially if you want wireless controlers, HD, play online etc etc..
nintendo REV is not going for the graphics, they are going for something like their name , something revolutionary, just look at the controlers here

what u all talking about.
1) 2 producers have already left PS3, rockstar and square. this is because the ps3 is so hard to program for its unreal. wont be many small companies making games for it.
2) xboxs are amazing. i have one and the best thing i ever did was chip it. it walks arround now with 40 games on it.
3) yea they cost a bit but they completely own the ps2 out of the window.
4) to get an xbox360 with all the add-ons and a 6month connection to xbox live.. tbh thats a very good deal for a new console.
5) M$ have said that the xbox 360 is going to be "mod" able so i expect them to be chipped within 6 months.
6) M$ have been cunning and are going to sell halo 3 on the day the ps3 is gonna be released.
the only competition on the xbox tbh is the ninteno rev. their controller is a bit weird but the ability to download alot of thier older games.

Eh, do you have any sources for that? I just heard a interview with a microsoft person and he said the opposite of what you said, he said he really doubt people could mod the console the way people have done it now, to crack an xbox360 is nearly impossible he said, because of the new system, it dosent help to crack the software, they have some kind of new hardware you have to bypass, which makes the job alot more harder

Yeah, I'm not sure any of your 'sources' are reliable Canned... Rockstar have most certainly not left PS3, infact reports I've heard are that they were among the first to get the early Dev Kit for PS3, and are hard at work with it already. Similarly, some staff have left Square, but Square have not left PS3.
There's no point in starting an argument as you're obviously an X-boy. Personally I'll be waiting for PS3, because it has better hardware, BlueRay and GTA4.

Might skip them all and spend the money on a new pc. Don't seem to play the consoles anymore anyway. So no point buying the next round.

square will stick with PS3, they shows LOTS of demo's at E3!!
The Mod'ing of the xbox 360 is in makign it look "bling".
and as for the xbox owning the ps2, lets have a quick look at sales shall we:
game boy's 100m
Ps2 70m
Xbox 13m
gamecube 11m.
yeah that some great "owning"..
the Ps2 was hard to code for but they still had more sold, and the same is going to happen with the PS3.

i didnt mean in sales i meant in quality.
most of those sources are from good websites i have been reading for time.
as for making it look bling.. thats what the "" are for.. but if u make a computer which is change able it does make thing a little easier.
tbh the first console which isnt chippable will fail badly as alot of slaes come that way.
tbh i think the xbox will fight back this time.. considering it was a new console it did pritty well. ill wait and see but tbh the only good games on a ps2 is GT and maybe FF
xbox all the way (plus the ps3 is nasty looking)

I think the ps2 got more sales because it came out before the other ones. Establish a market share and build on it. If the Xbox is out first, many people will be tempted. If the first games out are v. good then some ps2 people might think seriously about changing. Especially with ps3 further away and 'just for the interim' get the xbox.

for me it would be between the xbox and ps3.
probs xbox.
but as i cant afford either it's immaterial.
id probably sooner buy a second hand ps2 with gt4 anyway.

the Xbox has not that many good games anyway, halo's are crap. the only good game I've played on the Xbox is fable.
hell the xbox is the newst of all the consoles and it's get a sequal first, now take that and think what the games are going to be like....
MS have said they have worked VERY hard on making sure that the xbox 360 is un mod'able. so don't expect mod chips too soon,and to be able to use the media playing features of the 360 you will need a pc with meida center on it as well.
plus the xbox has one of the worst pad's in console history, only beaten by the Jaguar pad.
if you ask the general public they are all waiting for the PS3. People want to play there old PS3 games and because the general user base is built on the Ps2 most of them will happy continue buy sony consoles.

I kind of thought the same thing, but by the time ps3 comes out, its gonna be the same situation, PC's will always be ahead of consoles. And as the price goes, well the ps3 is rumoured to be around £300 - £400 and that is just the console and a controller.
But looking at the demos from ps3 like killzone 2 and motoro storm, i know that the ps3's graphics are gona be waaaay better, and the fact that they are using Blue ray discs. Compare 10 GB to 25 GB of disk space, developers can do sh*t loads more stuff on blue ray. AND i've hear that blue ray can have 4 layers, that is about 100 GB.
Hmmmmm, i think i should start saving up for the ps3 and a nice widescreen HD TV.

out of the two I want a PS3, the gundam game I looked at was amazing. as well as the FF7 demo remake video thingy.
plus the Ps3 can surport 2+ HD screens :)
