Help ive monged CS up.

I was playing with it trying to see if i can squeeze more than 10fps in smoke , so thought id see what direct 3d looked like, but its monged up. when i run cs it loads fine except all the boxes have disappeared, i can hear the sound as the mouse goes over them but cant see what im doing to change it back to open glide. aaaaagh how can i sort it. i thought there was a config with teh graphics settings in but i cant find it, its not in config.cfg. help
