Hey Rich,

Had a quick look on Scan for the components you need. VERY roughly, for your budget (£700ish you said?), you can get the following, which is almost the same spec as mine:

Description         Price Inc Vat
620W Corsair HX Series Modular SLi PSU, ATX, EPS 12V, whisper quiet, 5 year warranty   £78.12  £89.84
Asus P6T, Intel X58, S1366, PCI-E 2.0 (x16), Triple DDR3 2000(OC), SATA 3Gb/s, SATA RAID, ATX  £141.17  £162.35
Intel i7 920, D0 SLEBJ S1366, Nehalem, 2.66 GHz, QPI 4.8GT/s, 8MB Cache, 20x Ratio, 130W, Retail  £181.17  £208.35
1GB Asus GTX 285 55nm, 2484MHz GDDR3, GPU 648 MHz, Shader 1476 MHz, 240 Cores + Terminator Game  £193.99  £223.09
4GB (2x2GB) Corsair TwinX XMS3, DDR3 PC3-10666 (1333) 240 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 9-9-9-24  £49.10  £56.47

Net Total £643.55
Carriage £9.99  (I can get this for free if its posted to me)
VAT  £98.03
Total  £751.57

You said the only thing you were keeping was your disks and case? If you need disks, you would have to drop the CPU and Mobo down from a Core i7 to a Q8200 or something along those lines (taking £70 or so off the price), which would also reduce the cost of the mobo to about £100-ish.

Let me know your exact reqs and how you want to go about building and paying for it, and I can draw up something more concrete...

ah, cheers mofo,

would be needing the discs as well to be honest, one of them has dodgy sectors, but as i go the new job i got a payrise too :) so should be able to tack that on top of the deal anyway, pay day is in august now which includes the relocation money, so will be looking to sort it out in the middle of the month, other thing i need to think about is OS

That looks a good setup, I would also check ebuyer for prices as they have consistently been better for me.

As for the OS you can put the XP you had on your old machine and install Win7:RC and use that till next year!
