Found out today I have a policy that matures around August time woot!! so I will have a budget of around £500 to spend , so if anyone has some good sites they recommend I can have a trawl through Seen a couple on Mesh I like the look of this one in particurlar
clicky had this PC here for around 4-5 years now and gonna pass it onto my dad...his is around 14 years old...we like to get our moneys worth!

Nice enough but straight away id replace the psu with a better one 750-1000 w and id have a better sound card bunged in.

well it all depends on the quality of the PSU, if its a decent 550Wat PSU I would take it over a 750W or 1000W PSU. You only need those if you are going to put more then 1 GFX card in your machine.

On that note I would say a better GFX card would be better then sound card or bigger PSU.

i was only suggesting the cheaper option tho as a good powerfull psu isnt expencive and onboard so is cheap to replace , hes on a limited budget .

v nice - whats your current system? you may be able to up your specs, but building the pc yourself and not having to purchase some of the components again... would you be comfortable building your own pc?

OK PC is now ordered! should be here early next week ,so now I have a shiny new PC I will be considering upgrading speakers and was also wondering gaming keyboards...any good?

gz! Always go for headphones not speakers, you can get nice 5.1 ones from zalman for instance.

I agree with D on most things (and a few times I disagree i am wrong! ), but in this case i do disagree.

Don't get me wrong - i'm sure that a good quality pair of earphones may sound great, and work well for D but I think its all a matter of opinion, and I find that a good quality set of speakers give a far more 'immersive' feel when playing games. Especially if you have the bass unit under your feet (like i do! ).

Earphones definately have thier place, but if you have forgiving neighbours/flatmates then my opinion is that speakers are the way forward.

nice 1 - i have a very unforgiving wife...

the other reasons i like headphones are because they drown out all background noise too, so you can hear even the slightest sound, which si esp useful in games like CS, where sound is everything!
