Right. With womble just getting his new PC sorted, Fisty having got yet ANOTHER motherboard, demon chuffed with his computer and i know half of you guys are also proud of your setups i thaught we could use this thread as a place to benchmark our pc's

of the top of my head i can only think of one simple way of doing it and thats with 3d Mark 2001. the latest version reports everything as being crap and there has been a bit of a scandel with companies like ati and nvidia trying to swindle results so 2001 is still used as the standard.

what to do - if you dont have 3d mark 2001 goto

http://download.com.com/redir?pid=5122338&merid=67585&mfgid=67585&edId=3&siteId=4&oId=3000-2121-5122338&ontId=2121<ype=dl_dlnow&lop=link&destUrl=%2F3001-2121-5122338.html

and get it (demon if you can edit that link for me so it just says 'here' it would be appreciated)

run the test on your setup. then reply back in here (a pic of the results score would be nice if you can manage it) reporting what setings you used (screen resolution and frequency) and the basics of your computer setup (cpu, ram graphics card etc) preferably with speeds (ie overclocked? and you have 2100 ram or 2700?)

if demon could make this sticky then we could keep a record and a mini SFH comparison guide to judge PC's on.

you may post results on here more than once but only if you have made a difference to your setup (ie upgraded the memory)

GL and HF

Guess as i made the post i go first.

My pc -

AMD XP2100+ CPU ( at defaul speeds, 13x 133)
512MB PC2100 generic RAM
ABIT KR7A-133 mobo

With my GeForce 2 MX200, 64Mb RAM card i tested it right befor i upgraded and gained a score of 1348

About 10 mins after that i upgraded with my new card - FX5200 with 128Mb DDR ram and gained a score of 4272. this was using the latest nVidia drivers but default mobo drivers. the other thing is that my mobo isn't 8x agp like the card and is only allowing my card to run at 2x. as i said to demon a new mobo is on the horizon so when i get it i'll give u the results and i'll also try to find the screenshots of the scores above.

Ahhhh!!
Now I see why those people above got such good results!
My first set of results above were conducted at a res. of 1024x768x32.

I conducted a second test at 640x480x32 and got another score...

I got 12939

*Ahem*. I DO believe that is the highest so far!
/me pats his P4 processor. (Ouch!...)
