this was when I dident have the ping problem (only once spike) im going to post when I am getting serious ping problems like I had a little earlier this evening.. (400-500 ping)

As you said on vent m8, I think its clara and their routing thats the problem at the moment. Take more traces when the problem gets really bad...

is clara WS's isp? if so maybe WS could chase it up for you. if not maybe you should e-mail root@clara.net and ask for the appropriate e-mail address to contact them for tech support.

Nah, the best thing to do for now is gather a few more traces and take them to ned - maybe even give him the link to this thread and post them here? Anyway he'll surely get more joy out of them than you will as hes a customer of theirs and you arent... bloody companies...

BTW - bit of a fact here, I used to be on claranet back when I was on dialup playin Quake 1 on my 6x86 P166+...

Only other clan ive ever been in was called QiP - Quake Imperial Pros.

The last ever trace of our old website dissappeared a couple of months ago...

It would indeed appear to be clara.net whoa re the problem... Id snd ned the link to this or email him those results - hell be able to contact clara himself and have a moan at them...

Actually its not routing via the US, its routing via Germany. Cable & Wireless is an american company but if you trace the admin addresses for that set of IPs it leads to addresses in munich... plus th enameservers are aptly named:
