Hey guys, great website.
I would send the webmasters an email, but stuff like that only comes across as spam anyway. I get the same emails in my community, and I view them with the same skepticism you guys probably do.
So, I wanted to come in here, and show I'm not trying to waste your time.
Texas ...TeamPlayers..., a game community that hosts CSS, DoDS, BF2, BF2sf, and now BF2142 servers, uses website trackers. We use a BF2 tracker, the CSStop100 tracker, and a DoD tracker. The trackers we prefer to use are those that are based on real traffic, and not forced voting (which is what many, such as the www.bf2142sites.com tracker you guys are listed on, require). There's no point in using trackers like that, in our opinion, since they force your users, your new registrants, and your interested browsers (like me) to LEAVE your site, and go to the tracking site instead. It's just advertising for the trackers, and their silly google ads, and not for you.
Instead, we like trackers that leave your users alone, simply monitor website traffic, and then rank your site accordingly based on unique pageviews. No one has to vote, ever, or even go to the topsite ranking page, unless of course they want to check it out for themselves, or keep tabs on other members of the community. (which is always interesting...)
Another thing we like in trackers is having the rank displayed on the tracking image. The BF2 tracker we use specifically for this reason, all the way up to 50+ ranks. Yet another reason people don't have to leave your site, since you can see your rank right on there on the image.
And really, one of the best attributes of a good tracker is that you can monitor, in real time, your pageviews, unique pagevies, and the stats of other competing clans/communities, daily, weekly, and monthly. Very comprehensive and useful tools for clans and websites.
So.....end of the story.....we at www.texasteamplayers.com waited and waited for the usual suspects to make a 2142 hit-based tracker like we wanted....but no one ever did. Many of the vote-based trackers and scams popped up......but we won't ever use those.
So, in desperation, we just grabbed the aardvark software, and created www.2142topsites.com for the BF2142 community.
It just went live a a few weeks ago, and already we have some major clans and support sites signed up. Guys like MIA, =BD=, AcB, Special Force Mercenaries, mod guys like BF2552, and even BF2142cc, the command and control software makers (seriously).
The tracking icon is unintrusive, and easy to place on websites like yours. Here is an example of it on my website at texasteamplayers.com:

Though I'm sure you get tired of spam and offers to join this and sign up for that.....
please...it's not spam.....just give it a check and see.
www.2142topsites.com
Easy registration, it instantly gives you the html code for the button, you stick it in one of your blocks, and immediately, the tracker starts working and ranking. No one ever has to vote or click anything, ever......all your clan and site members have to do is come to your website as often as they always do. For every unique user per day, you get 1 "hit". Your "hits" are averaged for the day, and then you are ranked accordingly.
It's a good tracker. We believe all trackers should work like this. And that's why we wouldn't settle for the scams and ad-spamming ones others created.
again, thanks in advance, for looking into it.
