Hey all,

I’m doing something I have been meaning to do for a long time now by going travelling again and specifically to take a tour of the southern part of the African continent. Come the 3rd of October, I am flying to Cape Town for a 3 month journey through the South and South-East of Africa (route below) ending up in Nairobi, Kenya (via Rwanda!) and from there I will make my way back to ‘Old Blighty’ at the end of the year.

Why, you may say? Why not, I say! It’s there, and I feel compelled to see it for myself. Sure, these are rough times financially – but excuses are never far away from taking those big scary steps and in the ‘carpe diem’ spirit of adventure, excuses have no place.

I will be writing a journal whilst I am away, and given the techie inside me will never go away, I won’t be using pen or paper. I will be writing my journal on a daily basis on a PDA and taking photos and videos with a digital camera. Every time I get to a place in Africa where internet is available (I imagine at least once a week), I will be publishing all that I write and shoot here at this web-site:
