Well, as some of you know I had a "Test" yesterday to see if I were fit for national service (military service)..
Well, I thought I would get away since I had allergies and stuff, and I cant eat seafood etc.. but nooo...
After some tests (and alot of waiting) I got the paper were it said that I was approved for military service, and I should excpect to be called in 2007 (after my apprentice time) ..
But the thing is, they might not call me in in 2007 at all, but I have to live 10 years without knowing if I come in or not, because they can call me in until Im 28 years old... bleh..
And if I do come in, I have to stay there for about a year, and im probaly ending up in the navy..

It's only a year though. You've probably got at least another 50 of them to go through. A year in the services will fly by and it will be 'an experience'.

i would actually like to have compulsory military service in this country, i always fancied a go in one of the forces, and to honest learning to shoot rifles and mortars etc would be rather good fun. plus i think it would be of benefit to a lot of people in this country

I'm with the Moofster, it would've meant that I would have had a year between high school and uni and that would have been good. I prob wouldn't have ended up doing Computer Sci....
But I did meet D.... and gouldy... and mojo..... so maybe I should've had military service!

I think military service isnt too bad an idea tho my parents moved from South Africa to the UK as when I was a kid there it was compulsary too (tho not anymore)...

I say military service should be compulsory for everyone under the age of 41
