Just wondered if anyone has done any travelling and if so where to, and I don't just mean travelling to the shops.
I only ask as I have decided to pack up and f**k off about April time, going to America, Tahiti, Cook Islands, New Zealand, Australia and then to Thailand for a Lady Boy .
See some of the world and sample more women .
Can't wait.

I'm always going over to france, been to spain, portugal, US, Gibraltar oh and scotland ;)
Tips? Invest in decent kit. Dont expect a 25 quid sleeping bag to do the trick. Get a good sleeping bag that packs small (a company called snugpak are good and with practice you can get their bags down really well) and a good backpack, a good backpack will make all the difference when carrying your kit around. If you think your going to need a sleeping mat as well theyre expensive but look at something like Term-a-rest mats, much more comfortable and more packable than a normal roll mat and with the amount of time your looking to go travelling for would just make things easier. If you invest in the good kit now you'll appreciate it later when 12 months down the line after extensive use its still up to the task, still comfortable and still has life in it where a cheapy thing would have needed replacing already. Good kit costs but in the long run its worth it, especially with what you've got in mind.
If your intending to do alot of walking get a VERY good pair of boots and some decent pairs of socks, again they cost but you dont want your feet to get in a bad way when your half way through monsoon season in thailand
When i went to gouldy's and wombles i used my pack because its the easiest thing to lug about and i took my sleeping bag just in case (i didnt need it at wombles but was used at gouldies)
Finally first aid kit. you dont know what is avalible where, in the big places like sidney etc it wont be a problem but it always pays to have a first aid kit when travelling. And that includes bug spray, always bug spray :)
disregard if u wish but just my thaughts

I have to say thats good advice about the sleeping bag.
Don't cheap out on anything that is essential, but conversely, don't spend too much money on something that you can't replace if you lost it tommorrow!!

Cheers for the comments Jag's,
Especially the first aid part, you should always keep a spare bottle of beer in your first aid box, essential, especially if it's one of those situations that there ain't nothing gonna sort you out more than a bottle of beer, for that most common feeling on a Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon mornings A HANGOVER! so the cure everyone know's works. We in the medical profession call it, "HAIR O'TH DUG" ("hair of the dog" for all you non scottish folk).
I dunno if i'll really need much of a sleeping bag, as I plan to spend as many nights in as many different bedrooms belonging to the female populatins of whichever country I may be exlporing, as far as the mat is concerned i'll be lying on something alot more comfortable, ma bitch for the night => .
I've ordered myself a 70 litre rucksack from berghaus so it's the biz.
Dunno about the walking and sh!t, plan to throw myself of some rediculous height's, whether it be bungeee or try some base jumping if i get the opportunity. Drown in the white water rafting, do some surfing, certainly no walking. maybe only to the bar, then again that'll be some amount of walking, better take my timbies, good wear out of them.
All i need to do is sell the house pay the bitch off, bought my house 4 1/2 years ago for £48000 its now valued at offers over £115,000 (let's see quick calculation, 10to15% over asking price, £126-132,000) i can make most, £84,000 yeeehhhaaaar baaaaby!
party time !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

berghaus are definiatly a good make of kit, you shouldnt have any problems with that pack :)
oh and i meerly assumed the beer would be a fundemental part of your kit! even when on an expedition hike in the south downs here in the UK and camping we always find the pub :D
Bed plan sounds good but for £50 to get a good sleeping bag that will keep you warm and comfortable for those once a month occations when you dont get what your after it would be well worth it.
Sounds like its a great plan brewing though :) i'm hoping to goto canada (british colombia/vancouver area) for a few weeks in a year or so, we'll see how that goes tho.

Chris i think everyones getting more and more envious. even more so since you mentioned what an earner your house has proved to be.
are you going to invest the money you wont be spending while you are away, so you've made even more easy money when you get back.

Richie,
never seen the film but I see it's on xmas day so i might take a look at it cause it really does sound like me.
As for bringing you back a friend, i'll gladly post one back for you but you will have to declare her at immagration, postage & packaging the usual refugee stuff.
Greg,
I'm glad to hear you are all envious, you are all more than welcome to tag along. As for my money side of things i'll take £10,000 for spending money, and then invest the rest in brothels and drugs, it's the easiest money out there! Only joking i'll invest in ISA's and sh*t like that.
After my first year if i've really enjoyed it and still not seen enough, then I know I have money aside to keep going, or on the other hand if I decide to come home then I have enough money to get me started with a new house and stuff. To be honest i'm gonna try my hardest to get citizenship either in Oz or NZ. Should be able to find work pretty easily being a Cisco Network Engineer, so my chances are pretty good, failing on the job front I can always get some Kiwi bird up the duff and then be forced to stay in the country by her big bad daddy!!!!!!
Cheers
Chris
