Well at long last, and after much procrastination, I am investing in some new PC bits. They are as follows:

Description            Inc VAT
Asus P6T, Intel X58, S1366, PCI-E 2.0 (x16), Triple DDR3 2000(OC), SATA 3Gb/s, SATA RAID,   £163.50
Intel i7 920, D0 SLEBJ S1366, Nehalem, 2.66 GHz, QPI 4.8GT/s, 8MB Cache, 20x Ratio, 130W, Retail £208.35
6GB (3x2GB) CorsairXMS3, DDR3 PC3-10666 (1333) 240 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 9-9-9-24  £76.02
1GB Asus GTX 285 55nm, 2484MHz GDDR3, GPU 648 MHz, Shader 1476 MHz, 240 Cores + Terminator Game  £229.17
23" Samsung SyncMaster P2350 or SM2343BW Monitor?         £185.98

Total  £863.01

I havent ordered this yet, but will be doing so in 2 weeks time. Any comments or suggestions of better components around the same price, before I order it?

You KNEW i was gonna cut in...

I would recommend a different motherboard:

Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R, Intel X58, 6xDDR3, two x PCI-E 2.0 (x16) £163.50 (www.novatech.co.uk)
Slightly better yet slightly cheaper.
Otherwise, flawless.

What PSU and cooling you gonna get?

lol

On the monitor, I looked at T220/240, but they wont go properly on my desk stand (I have a dual monitor VESA desk clamp), and even if they did, would look odd compared to my other screen. The 2 Samsungs will match better and are both VESA compliant.

On the board, interesting option Harv. Will take a look, the only thing is I've had a couple of Gigabytes in the past which died, but my Asus and DFIs have rocked on for many years without issue. The Aus one is also the current definitive from tomshardware. Tricky choice! Can't wait to get it though... I can feel the next i-series LAN calling me... callliiiinnnngggg meeeeeeeeeee!

Oh aye and I have a v nice PSU already which I bought an age ago, with future proofing in mind (Enermax Noisetaker 600W). 4 years old and still in the running as a quality PSU - great choice methinks! Dont think I'll need an upgrade just yet.

Well, I finally did it yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

I even upped the specs a tiny bit (better mobo, lower latency RAM, better GFX card) as Scan had some good offers on their today only page, and I bought a 30GB SSD for installing WoW onto:

Asus P6T Deluxe V2, Intel X58, SLi/Xfire, Sok 1366, PCI-E 2.0, DDR3 1066/1333/1600(OC), SATAII, ATX
Intel Core i7 920, D0 SLEBJ S1366, Nehalem, 2.66 GHz, QPI 4.8GT/s, 8MB Cache, 20x Ratio, 130W, Retail
1GB Asus GTX 285 TOP 55nm, 2600MHz GDDR3, GPU 670 MHz, Shader 1550 MHz, 240 Cores + Terminator Game
6GB (3x2GB) Corsair XMS3, DDR3 PC3-10666 (1333) 240 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 7-7-7-20
30GB OCZ Tech OCZSSD2, Vertex, MLC-Flash, 2.5", SATA 3Gb/s, Read 200MB/s, Write 160MB/s, Retail (+ a 3.5" caddy for a fiver)
22" Samsung SM2243BW 22W BLCK TFT DUAL 5MS H/A - LS22MYKEBCA/EN
650VA APC Tower UPS with Internet/DSL/ Fax/Modem Protection - Retail Box

All in, £1083.50 inc postage of monitor (from another company).

Who wants to kiss my PCs balls now?

That's not bad, but I think you should have got one of these:

      Maingear Ephex

Specced out to the max, it comes in around £8500. But I imagine Minesweeper is awesome on it.
