Ok I have been getting this "cannot connect LAN servers restricted to local clients only (CLASS C)" error message lately on different servers. I played on the SFH server yesterday but tried to get on today and got that message for some reason. Was it running on a LAN or is my system just screwed? Any help would be appreciated as I cannot find this problem in any tech forums. Thanks.

"If you're running a Internet server, you probably have sv_lan 1 in your server.cfg file"

 

Found that possible culprit on OZFORUMS. Did someone change it on the server.cfg? I will check my end to make sure it isn't me.

No I am running 1.5 I guess it is. I didn't think 1.6 was out yet?

K well I updated to 1.6 Steam and all. I only played for a bit and I can say it does look cleaner but I personally hate it. Maybe I am just not fond of change but none of my macros worked and I had some sweet ones set up. I had a real nice scripting program for quick buys and all. Imagine how long it will take to redo them all manually. I also didn't like that a lot of the guns from the Firearms mod have entered the game. I didn't like them in Firearms so I can't imagine I will like them now. I really am not sure it is much of an improvement over 1.5 other than visually.

I also couldn't find any of my config files or or map files or models files or anything like that that I was used to using to customize the game. I used to run a server and it seems almost like a new game to me. I am going to give it a chance I guess as I am sure when Condition Zero comes out everyone will be running it. There were lots of people on the server that must have agreed with me because many were calling for a revert back to 1.5.  I guess change is inevitable but man I sure liked the game the way it was. Was it really that broken?

Id reccomend you get rze's helper script or nextwish from www.nextwish.org which will sort your binds at least...

As i have said before dude, you learn how to make them yourself, and then you find there is nothing you cant do with binds. If i had a penny for everytime somebody has asked me for my binds...

um.

Ok I got the script program. I hope it works as well as the one I used to use. Thanks for the headsup on where to get one Demon. If I wanted to write my own where do I put them? Can I simply write it in the console like you used to be able to? I ask because I had one where it woudl pull out my knife and when I let go my rprimary and secondary weapons were automatically set up so when I went to quick switch it woudl go from gun to gun adn not one gun then knife. This was real handy to run faster and after throwing a nade to reset your weapons. Anyhow thanks again for the help gang, I feel like a noob again!

Hey believe it or not the nextwish beta 1.6.1 script program has that knife script. If you set the knife stab to a key when you hit it it will switch to the stabbing knife and when you let go your primary and secondary weapons will be set it's so sweet. I haven't found that it will work with the slashing or run with knife option, only the stabbing one. Thanks again to Demon for the nextwish tip. I can't imagine not having one. Now if I can just get used to 1.6. It is so much like a new game and man it's so obvious they don't have any anti-cheat protection. Anyhow thanks again for all the tips.
