Seriously considering buying a laptop in the new year. Really cant be arsed sorting out a new desktop when i still keep moving house and wouldnt mind the convenience of a laptop.

So any ideas for where might do some cheap deals in the new year sales, either in shops or online?

Guess would spend about 500 quid maybe, not too fussed about games but a decent gfx adaptor is necessary, and onboard wireless

the xps is a good lappy but it is expensive, u might be able to pick one up on ebay or sommmit tho

yeah i had heard dell have sorta went down hill recently,
im still more than happy wif my vaio lappy,

its 2 odd yrs old now and im still running most new games on it,. sayin that 2142 si startin to struggle

yeah im not loaded though dp!

i might look at the boxing day sales in comet etc and see if i cant pick up a cheap fujitsu siemens or similar.

im loathe to pay through the nose for a lappy so might settle for 300-400 quids worth.

My Boss just picked up a reasonable advent for 400 bar the only down side to it was small hard drive and not very good graphics but decent ram and proccesor

yeah i wouldnt mind a decent hard drive and half decent graphics but then i dont even have time for cs at the mo so its not a biggy.

decisions decisions, its also 300-400-500 quid i dont really have

laptop hard drives are normally only about 80gig or so, but they are going up but they are very expenvice.

And you will find most cheap laptops only come with intel intergrated graphics and they are not good.

They aint, but mine'l do i hope.

It has more ram than my cpu, extra ram slot, and a gfx card. Tbh, its bound to be superior to what i have got now so i cant complain !

Some laptops are, and yeah just make sure it's not Intel Graphics, I have the "top" one of the series, and you see how that went...

what do you think of this laptop that currys/dixons/pcworld are doing cheaply?

i know its got the intel graphics chipset, but does have 80gb hd, and 1gb ram.

cant really find anything of a similar price, play are doing a cheap vaio about 550 but not good spec. dell are too expensive really considering ill mostly just be using it for the internet.

anyone seen any cheaper laptop deals? might hit the shops tomorrow.

Viao = badly put together Sony crap.

Think of the terrable build qulity of the playstation x10.

Out of those 2 I would go with the Acer.

I think so seeing they give NTI writing software with the laptop.

Oh and looking it up on acer's site the gfx card can take upto 128 of your main ram for gaming.

I also surgest you buy a 1Gig of Ram, it should only set yo back about £70, and you will notice the differance.
