ok this is so sweeeeeet, i just come off training in work.. and my group all now been split into different teams... most of us just been filtered into already existing teams, anyways during my trainin i got a phone call from a mac user.. not really knowing what to i found my coach ( who was like only mac advisor in the building) and he told me how to fix the problem.. i then blagged him to give me some of mac call backs and he was more than happy as since he now a coach he dont do call backs anymore and he needed some one to take over from him.... that was me
anyways over last week people in my trainin who new i can use a mac have been emailin me call backs, now rest of there teams caught on too that i can do mac queries, so everyone givin me slips of paper wif fone numbers in them etc... got about 40 in about 2 days..so realising that macs are now gettin really popular a senior manager has agreed to start a mac department in work.. bacically at min its gonna be me and mate mark
and to sweaten the deal im gettin a massive jump in pay from 17k to 25k as i now a department head and they giving my own g5..

dont care what u all say about macs... u can all suck my balls if u dont like em... as im pretty sure this is gonna piss on most pcs..specially once i get 16gb of ram, in it :D
plus it loooooks soo nice...
im sorry but i so have been converted to mac... the os is way better than xp, the comp it self looks way more stylish than most pc( exluding alien ware...they are coool looking)

Macs are nice, I might get a mac mini at some point, but MACS can and do get Viruses and Spyware, its just there is ALOT less of it out there.
Once more people start getting Macs you will see alot more maware on it.

you can - you just add /PAE to the boot.ini file which enables physical adress extensions...

U can have more then 4Gig in any computer 32bit or 16bit.
It comes down to how much memory any thread can access (eg programs).
32bit systems can only access 3Gig, 64bit can access more memory.

Simple fact is that Macs are rather cool these days, and the one you're getting Des is particularly awesome. You can indeed have a dual OS install, with Windows and Mac OS X. You should then have no trouble installing HL on the Windows OS and playing as normal. As far as I'm aware, there are a few different ways of doing this: either the computer has a dual boot option, so you run either Windows or OS X on it, or you can run Windows 'on' OS X simultaneously, which presumably takes a hit in performance but would still be fine for some things.
Also, until Adobe finish developing the proper Intel version of CS, it might actually be faster to use CS on Windows on the Mac than running it through Rosetta on OS X!
Nice pay rise btw! Now just give it a couple of weeks and then ask for a Mac laptop too!
