Finally got my 80GB DLT drive working on my server, I now have my own full backup solution!

Nice.
Was thinking about the same sort of thing meself tbh.
We use loads of 360GB SDLTs at work.
Any ideas how much that would set me back?

a fortune tbh...

a 40/80 second hand is starting price £50-100, id guess a few hundred for an SDLT i reckon...

We need to get some kind of backup solution in the flat, DVD's just take way too long to back everything up.

nope - i dont have access to hardware apart from servers and theyre in a room with retinal scanners on the door, we have companies which do all out hardware fixing for us. I got this drive cos it was gonna get binned otherwise...

I think not.
I value my job there.
I am gonna ask the appropriate people if i can buy an SDLT drive off them though. They have dozens lying around doing nothing.
