Right chaps, question.. this is prolly directed more a gouldys household so bourbon and happy quit lurking and pipe up!

I'm just trying to get all me roms sorted out and have stumbled onto a minefield.. basically I'm looking for some advise on rom managers and emulators.

I have current got, and used before, ZSNES, Nemu and UltraHLE, DOSBox and ScummVM and VisualBoy Advance. All seem fine to me BUT is there anything better I could be using (mroe compatable with rom managers) and alo what should I use for other platforms? Mega Drive, NES etc

Now, I've just DLed a few rom managers.. GoodTools seems good but command line is pain in the ass and the GUIs available are a bit buggy. So then I looked at ROMcenter - seems pretty well featured. But now I've discovered all-in-one managers.. LusSpace and QuickPlay. aaarg!
Are you familier with any of these? I just dont want to spend the time setting it all up to find that something is better or more compatable!

Please help!

Not 100% sure what you meaning by rom mangers, but I should be able to help with the other platforms part.

For Mega drive you want to use Gens or Gens+.

For Nes, ummmm there are so many of them out there.
The best place to look up emu's and anything todo with emus's is www.zophar.net

When it comes to "setting up" most of these emu's the best plan I have found is to have your dir's like this eg snes:

Snes -
      |-Znes
      |
      |-Roms -
              |- #
              |- A
              |- B
               etc.

So just ahve a dir for the for the console, then a differant dir for each emu. then a dir for the roms and have the roms seperated into the letters (works for alot but not all emu's such as mame).
most emu's these days you can set default rom folders.

Once you tell me what you are trying to acheve with the rom manager I can help you more.
