Ok guys i'm asking you to dig deep into those piles of old computer gear, find that stuff that you dont use anymore because its inferior, obsolete or just plain old and donate to a charity (genuine charity to not just my pocket! lol)
Basically i'm in need of an old HDD, needs to be 4GB or more but doesnt need to really be bigger than 10gb. Theoretically the ideal HDD would be a 40gb disk but i can get away with much less.
What is it for? Well i've got a load of computer parts spare, 1.6ghz CPU, some ram, mobo etc etc, and my mum has asked if i would consider making it into a flight sim for the cadets befor i move away so i've got a month to get this working. It will run a windows OS (most likely XP) with as much sh*t taken out as possible and an open source flight sim i've come accross installed to. If i can get a 4gb HDD for it i should be able to get most of europe scenery data installed but the bigger the HDD the more scenery i can install giving the cadets more freedom. It will be used to teach the cadets principles of flight, airmanship, propultion, air navigation etc which are all modules that go towards the cadets getting BTEC qualifications (theoretically a cadet could get their BTEC befor they get their GCSE's...)
Cadet squadrons are all charities, they have to raise money for any kit, the squadron my mum is at has just finished raising money to refurbish their band kit. At the end of the day it keeps kids of the streets, gives them amazing oppotunities to go overseas, flying, outdoor expeditions and much much more so IMO its a worthy cause but right now i'm just trying to track down a HDD to develop a training tool for them. so if you've got an old HDD lying around would you please consider giving it to this project
Anyone that's interested in helping with the project in anyway is more than welcome to join in, i may need some help with some modeling and system configuration.

oh and another thaught, the graphics card i've got is a TNT2 32mb card... so if anyone has a GF2, GF4mx card or whatever (ie more powerfull than an achient tnt2!) and is willing to donate it then it would really be appreciated

Thinking off the top of my head and the only spare drive is a 20gig, but I think it's f**ked. and for GFX voodoo's is my only spares.

Nowt much here either.
I have a spare Graphics card that i don't want, but i don't think it is very powerful.
It says its a 3D Rage Pro AGP 2X. It also 4 chips on it - 2 are labled 2Mb, and 2 are labled 1Mb. I guess that makes it 6Mb of mem!?
Anyway - you can have that if you want.
