I'm not hoping for any luck but here goes.
I'm looking for some sort of connection block which will take an audio input and split it to separate sources, which also has its volume control.
I want to output the sound from my pc to this block if it exists, then run that to my amplifier and my headphones. I have my pc plugged into the amp so I can play all my music through my stereo, but the amp unfortunately doesnt have a headphone socket (if only i'd considered my cs needs when i bought it...). If I'm using headphones for CS I have to unplug the line out, turn the windows vol right down, plug in headphones, find a suitable volume (pain in the arse) then play, then change it all back again afterwards (also pain in arse).
Are there any other solutions other than buy a sound card with a 5.25" front control panel, or use normal computer speakers (not doing that), or buy a new amp (no chance!).

i pondered the idea of using my onboard sound just for CS/vent output, but thats also a pain because I dont always bother with headphones, and I still have the problem of having to adjust the volume in windows which i find irritating to get just right.

I have the speakers coming out of the digiatal jack and have me headphones out the normal jack, and use the voulme buttons on my keyboard to put the volume down.

i actually bought a sidewinder GameVoice... the unit takes an output from the pc and has a split for external sound system... and just has a button to switch between the two as well as a volume control on the unit to turn down if needed... but like everyone else i have volume on my headphones :P
my external is 7.1 surround sound which is funky cause the way it's hooked up i get voice thru my headphones but i can keep the rest of the sound thru the surround so only the centre is on headphones which is vent and game comms.

well... if were comparing, i used to have an audio switch which would select either my speakers, headphones or TV when i hade vid out. Now I just use my surround sound headys on the gamer and my speakers on the server... 2 pcs always makes choice of sound options easier...

ive been doin that for years mate... ive always said cs is about sound... womble has FINALLY agreed with me last night since he got headys... there is NO WAY that ANYONE (inc you griz) should be using speakers in CS.
