Its a very very sad day indeed, Suprnova.org is no more

from the site

Greetings everybody,

As you have probably noticed, we have often had downtimes. This was because it was so hard to keep this site up!
But now we are sorry to inform you all, that SuprNova is closing down for good in the way that we all know it.
We do not know if SuprNova is going to return, but it is certainly not going to be hosting any more torrent links.
We are very sorry for this, but there was no other way, we have tried everything.

Thank you all that helped us, by donating mirrors or something else, by uploading and seeding files, by helping people out on IRC and on forum, by spreading the word about SuprNova.org.
It is a sad day for all of us!

Please visit SuprNova.org every once in a while to get the latest news on what is happening and if there is anything new to report on.

As we wish to maintain the nice comunity that we created, we are keppig forums and irc servers open.

Thank you all and Goodbye!
sloncek & the rest of the SuprNova Team

yeah I've been with suprnova for awhile, it's worst then when sharereactor went down :(

but I will be looking for sites over the next week, here one I found for TV:

btefnet

plus if you use edonkey or emule there is the-realworld

or you can do something allong these lines:
goto google and type in what you want to get eg star trek as

star trek filetype:torrent

i was speaking to alex and harv about torrents on Saturday, and basically i had been reading that the movie and music indudtries have basically given up targetting individuals, well not the massive file shares, but have moved to ISP and hosts, and well basically sueing anyone who is found to host a site that offers links to illegal file shares.

so i think your seeing the start, but then like alex says you just need to migrate to something like direct access and use that instead, never got into torrents etc so im not missing anything

what is the legal grounds for us posting links to illegal websites file hosting? i assume we signed a waiver absolving the host of any comments posted on a forum in the public domain... ie we are responsible for the content.. not that i would imagine we owuld get any come back

well to be picky, that website isnt actually hosting illegal content i dont think, its merely posting the links.

chances are it will be shut down like suprnova as its effectively doing the same job, so get it while you can!

anyway i'm fairly sure theres a shed load of torrent site discussion going on across the web at the mo!

isnt it clever though everyone telling evryone where to go to replace them, all the lawyers do is sit back find the link then put an injunction against the new host, lol, could close down loads of them and all they do is have to follow the forum boards!
