Well fair play to Demon, he said he would set it up and indeed last night the new e-frag server was up and running, i spoke to the guy who set it up and he had done it about 5 mins ago, i looked and there was already people on it, So far i have not seen the server empty,

also the best ping i had on it was 12, and thats on 512k, god if i had 2mb.....

Also a big thanks to Scotzman who has set up our vent channel and provided us with the use of the SJ server in the mean time when we have wanted to borrow it, Top man

ye finnaly pld it just a sec ago ... good server.. only the problem wa that I had 250 ping :S .... but its back to the normal 100 ping now anyway..

i do seem to be getting a bit of choke on the sever, never gets above 10 but it is persistant,

i adjusted the rates but may need to play with them some more to make sure i get them right,

cant comment on the reg as i need to play it some more to see if it is good, and as yet i cant really complain about lag, i can complain as i do have to drop kick peeps off the server to get on, that doesnt bother me much as i have the power to do so, it may irritate some people in the clan that they cant get on the server when they want to as it always seems to be full, and i do mean always, i have yet to see it empty,

i would say next time maybe up it to 16 players from 14, i like 8 a side on some maps, apart from that, yeah its a good server, will wait to ,make comments on thier support and if we get ip changes and downtime problems

i was thinking maybe we up it to 16 man then order a 2nd private 12 man server for matches, praccys and customs - £90 or £120 for 6 months!!! I still have to find out for sure but ill start a new thread when i know...

it seem to start of ok but its defo getting worse , ive had no end of people complain about the reg , lag and people are leaving coz of it , the reg suxs ass and ive got choke but ive sorted that thanks to demons new rate setting and ive had flush entity once, but as we were talking about this last night its hard to find a good server out there so wots a womble to do ? just put up n shut up i spose . Agreeage with the 12 man idea etc

im not convinced with the 12 man idea, would seem like we are paying whatever to run a public server. then having a server that we use for prac and matches,

i would pay for it, but it does feel a bit odd to go from none to 2 and hen possibly not using one of them a lot.

i like the server. occationally i think wtf? lag/bullet reg! but i'm putting that down to the choke and my rates. i was getting 100 choke non stop and pings ove 80 - 120 which reminded me of 56k. I've reduced my rates down to below 56k rates and my choke is now on par with what richie said he's experianceing. pipex say they'll have a go at fixing the line tomorrow.

Ok lads... its about time i learnt what all this rates and choke terminology means. I have no idea what my rates are and i also dont know what they should be or how to set them.
Can somebody tell me how to set the best rates up for the SFH server and then i'll keep them that way.

nope - cos our new server is sv_maxrate 15000

the config.cfg file is in your counter-strike/cstrike directory...
