For last week or so been getting massive pings playing GW , highest was 40K and averaging around 5K which is making GW unplayable for me ,not changed anything here on the PC as you know I don't 'do' stuff on PC apart from basics i.e.turn it on/off

anyone got any ideas or tips to speed me up again?

Get a anti-malware programme and do a scan....
i recommend malwarebytes.

then u want summat to check for adds and things things tracking your movements.
i recommend Glary utilities

both are free....download install and do a full scan.then delete all the crap...

even deleting your history and cookies can help!

have you checked on your isp's website, to see if they are experiencing any faults in your area?

Glary found a sh*tload of stuff which surprised me as I regularly run CCleaner , also moved the PC onto the tabletop next to me with a clear line of sight to the router and it seems to be a lot better...I really don't understand this stuff lol how can if be fine one week and despite nothing changing go completely to sh*t the next

Also try plugging it in using a cable to ensure it's not just your wireless

it can go sh*t cos you think your downloading an mp3 from a trusted safe site but when your computer opens the ports to download the file, you can get infected with malware and spy ware and loads of other sh*t.

There are 2 things you can do.....

Either get a really good firewall or
Do a weekly scan and delete all da crap.

Ping went as high as 20K at one point , now hovers around 3-400 mark
