Anyone know anything about JSP and Tomcat? I work on a website doing the design and stuff, and the header and footer and product codes and a few other bits are automatically generated by jsp, but as I don't have a test server environment, I canny see whit I'm bloomin' working on properly! It's not been a huge problem, but if anyone could give me some guidance on whether it's easy to install Tomcat and run a virtual server to see the pages properly, that would be cool. Any thoughts?

I do know something about it, I will try to dredge up som of what I lernt about a year and a half ago.

How it works is that tomcat runs the jsp code, and apache runs tomcat.

You write the jsp, and inside the jsp you inbed the HTML that you want to be shown, and you output it to the browser with a set command (What it is excapes me at the moment).  most of the coding is very much standard java,  but with these JSP (serverlets, code put in where needed)

There are some very good books that go in to great deal about JSP and tomcat, etc.  But you shoudl ask Edd about that because he brought the book we worked from.
