GTA 4 is on the Xbox 360 as well, no need to get a PS3 for it. and if half of what I hear are true the Ps3 version is going to be a real mess :)

Xbox 360 gets "exclusive" episodes too, because mircrosoft paid them like half a billion dollar. But, I don't have xbox, so Im getting Ps3 ^^

You will be lucky to have the game running at decent frame rates on the PS3, at the moment all the videos that have been shown are from the xbox version as the ps3 one does have half the effects working and it still has sh*t lots of problems.
If it wasn't for the Ps3 version you would have been playing this at xmas on the XBox.

LOL! yeah - we have a button to compile the graphics in "good looking ps3 mode". Seriously the difference in theory would be the same as having your pc settings on High and Very High...which is why orange box looks better on the ps3...ohh wait does it? If you don't have a 1080p tv to go with it...forget about it.
It'll probably look exactly the same unless they can push the ps3 more...which currently they can't even get it running as well as the 360 versions.
Saying that - I'll probably get a ps3 one day.

It will take a while before they can get use the ps3's potential, and same with XBOX360. Just look at the ps2, not long ago God of War II came out, and it looked stunning.
Compare a recently ps2 game, with an old one, and you'll see how much they improved over the years. It only takes time, but eventually ps3 will be "better" hardware wise, than the xbox360. Both of the consoles don't have any game that uses the power of the console to what it's worth.

But this time around is different, the only reason people pushed the Ps2 as far as they did was it had 95% of the market so most people were forced to work on the Ps2.
This time around Nintendo is walking all over the Ps3 in sales terms and even Xbox 360 is still selling more the Ps3.
This basically means that the unless the Ps3 gets a much larger present of the market dev's are not going to put the effort in to learn the overly complex hardware as they won't make money off it.
This effect is already being seen with most major Ps3 only games going multi platform and most of the multi platform games looking and running better on the 360.

Exactly - a lot of developers like money...it's what feeds them and their familys. As the mass market have wii's (mainly because they are cheaper) it's best to make wii games...and 360 games.
It still makes me laugh the the ps2 is still outselling the PS3 
Sony told use we weren't going to make any ps2 games any more...then 6 months later all that changed when they realised the ps3 isn't selling as well as the ps2...now we are making ps2 games.

i think the time will come for the ps3, but i bet a lot of people are thinking the same as me - i wont buy one until ive a hdtv to play it on.
and regarding sales, i dont believe for one minute sony don't know what they are doing regarding their sales strategy. if they werent selling what they considered enough, they would have dropped the price more by now. they are slicing off their top slice of rich customers who are buying into the HD revolution. once that market is saturated they'll move onto students, teenagers, children, and that will probably involve some big price drops.
of course, i know you too will both come back with "but sony dont know what they're doing, they're idiots, they can't sell it for sh*t...." ... but i just dont buy that. their strategy may have been misplaced when it launched, but long term they will get it right.

I'm fed up of making this agument again and again. I just hope by the time the PS3 "comes around" there isn't a new "Next Gen" xbox supporting DirectX 10

All I know is that Sony have a huge mountin to clime if they are to get anywhere close to 1st place, in the last year the only place the Ps3 has not come last in sales is in Japan. Even in europe "Sony's second home" its being out sold by the xbox (and the Wii is out selling both combined).
Even with the recent drastically gimped 40gb Ps3 at a reduce priced only managed to out sell the Wii by 20k units in Japan for one month only.
