Hello,
When running a system with an integrated graphics controller, you will want to run the game in Directx 7, with shader detail set to low, in windowed mode in order for the game to function properly. For more information please see the following FAQ:

Ok, I bought the premier source pack yesterday, and I started playing half-life 2..
I had tested the Hl2 : Demo before to see if i could run it on this laptop, and it worked fine enough.
Then, some stuff started to happen, every time the game saves (auto saves) or I save the game it crashed to the desktop (with no error message)..
Then I tried to start up DoD source/CS:Source and after I launched the game when I get to the main menu I see the background for a split second before it turns black, I can hear the sound (hovering the mouse over the menus etc) but, its all black, and when I click on a item I see a white square..
After some endless searching on the forums, I tried that command to set up some force vid, no sound etc, and it turns out that I have to force it to set -dxlevel 70 (directx 7) , it then works fine, I get the menu systems up and I see the backgrounds..
So I tried that with hl2 aswell, to see if I could save the game and that worked, but after it autosaved by itself.. it crashed yet again =/
Now, I do not want to run it in direct x7 mode , because of graphics wise, and since it dident really help me with the crash issue, I dont really know anymore..
I'm playing on a laptop, IBM T60, everything on this laptop is fine, but It does not have the best graphic card..
It's and Intel Express Chipset 950GM (Direct x 8.1 technology, 128 MB ), which should do the job really, may not be the best graphic but it should display some of the dx8 technology..
The things that I've tried is :
Verifying the files
Deleting client.blob
Reinstalling Direct X 9.0c
Here are my specs:
IBM T60
Dual Core Intel Centrino CPU (2x 1.66Ghz)
1,5 GB Memory
80 GB Hard drive
Soundmax HD Audio
Intel Express Chipset 950GM 128 MB
