So I just discovered a very pointless way to waste time and bandwidth, completely by accident.
1. Simply set up two separate email addresses, say
hamble@thing1.com
newhamble@thing2.com
2. Give them both auto-reply rules, like an out-of-office message.
3. Sit back and watch the emails bounce back and forth forever!
Luckily I noticed what I had done within about 10 minutes, by which time I had 12 emails, all quoting from each other and thus getting larger each time! Theoretically speaking, I suppose this could go on forever... do one of you techy geeks (I'm looking at you, Demon) know how long would it take to cause problems?

and it wouldn't go on forever, as you don't have an infinite amount of memory.
They would get rejected due to size after a while, if there wasn't some kind of spam limit.

Most exchange servers I've used only bounce emails the once.

Well obviously I didn't mean FOREVER Mojo... but for a long time. Both email addresses are with Network Solutions out of the US, but they were still going when I stopped it.
Perhaps I should turn it back on as an experiment...

Just goes to show how badly your email servers are administered
