Hello,

I have been having problems with my BB supplier, eclipse. Basically there is a problem on my line (it's a new flat) and they have passed the call onto BT. The problem I am having is the connection will connect (if I reset my connection details) for about 1 - 4 minutes before disconnecting. This is not the case at certain times like 11pm - 8 am the next day or something.

Anyone know how I can hurry up the process of finding the fault? Anyone know what the fault is? Anyone know who I should hassle in BT to fix it? Eclipse are virtually impossible to contact and are practically no help. I have my MAC code from them so I am thinking about a move to plusnet. Any ideas anyone?

This has been going on for a month and they haven't gotten back to me with any useful information. I frequently spend 30 minutes on hold waiting to speak to someone before the line goes dead. Their online support call used to be good but seems to have totally gone down hill. I need help!

seems like many people on the max 8 meg service are having the same sort of problems, my connection is virtually useless after 7 - 8 pm most days and many others are having the same problem irrespective of isp,the only solution available is to down grade to 2meg or move isp to cable or a adsl 2 provider like be. the only good thing about my isp is that i can use the online chat system to contact them and save on the premium phone call cost rip off. as more people connect to bb the exchanges seem to reach saturation point my local exchange has 23000 connections so changing provider might not change anything.

eclipse have gone wank the last few weeks... my 800kbps off peak download rates drop as low as 60kbps during peak hours now... not impressed. Im leaving eclipse when we move house...

unscrew the frontplate of the master socket and plug the router straight into the test socket behind. If its ok there, then youl get charged for the visit. If its still crap then its probably something to do with the line itself. When its connected try and get the downstream attenuation and the snr values. with attenuation the lower the better! also check and see if there are any crc or hec errors on the connection, downstream that is. All that can be found in the status page of the modem /router
