I just tried to FTP a file to a printer to get free printing at uni not a good idea when i did it wrong and the printer went mad and started sending loads of blank paper to the through it

steal a printer,

or as curly was just telling me, do what edd did,

using an apple he plugged the printer into it and then just hit print... and tadaaa it worked

yeah it works fine as long as its not passworded and you send the file to the printer in the right type and not just as a document thats when it starts printing tons of blank paper. To get the printer IP if its a hp just go up to it press right and then down twice or summit untill it says printer setting and click ok and it will print of the ip address of the machine then just open an explorer window ftp://10.23.42.12 or whatever

got the ip address but cant get it to work. presume its blocked or something.

gutted, i could have done with free printing for my F-ing dissertation.
