I have a 1mb broadband, which means that i should be downloading songs at atleast 20kbps, but i can't.
The max i get is 3kb, and its not because there are not enough resources, that is 3kb even when downloading from 8 hosts which presumably have t3 or higher. I don't get, i used to be able to download songs very quick n fast, just lately it is very very very slow. Help plz

I am wit talk talk, sometimes i can get it up to 35, but most of the time i cant even go higher then 3kb. No i'm not going through a router, and the file sizes are about 5000kb average (songs!). I am sure i haven't set the limite very low, i don't even knw how to. But if i had, then i wouldn't be gettin 34kb's sometimes.

I haven't got a router, but i did forward some ports so that the fire wall dosen't block lime wire. Why do talk talk do that???

because they can. because the majority of P2P usage will be illegal. because they're probably targetting low usage customers who dont have an interest in p2p.
i would say get your folks to switch to telewest for uncapped unthrottled service, but as you live near me you'd probably end up with the sh*t service we've had in my house since the speed upgrades in autumn.
are you in fenham

Yea i'm in fenham, my contract runs out soon as well, and i was thinkin of upgrading to a 2 or 4mb connection. If not telewest then what about bulldog, tiscali or any other ones you can suggest. I used to be with tiescali, i have to say to get connected it was a pain in the ass, but after i was online i never had a problem with them.

Yea but the thing with wanadoo is that they don't have unlimited download limit, which is what i want, cause i think i'll fisnih 2G in 3-4 days easy, cause i play online quite a bit, on pc and ps2. Do you know how much do they charge after you are done with your 2GB??

not a lot
install netmeter (tis free) and it will measure your usage.
so you can get daily, weekly, monthly totals of how much bandwidth you use
