Well womble,

I got the HIS ATI 9800 Pro Iceq Platinum edition (apparantly). It was just over 150 (170) but it looks cool.

There's another Pro card for 150 that includes VAT. Think it might be the one gama has but not sure. I tried www.overclockers.com for mine and www.ebuyer.com.

They had loads of 9800 cards. Hope this helps master.

All you need to know womble is go for a 9800 pro of what ever you fravorite website is and go for a 128Mb version.  after that just go for the cheepest because they are all running off the same core, so the results from each card will be very very similar.

Yup, just to re-itterate.
Don't matter what 9800pro 128Mb you get dude. They are all the same at the end of the day, just some come with silly packages that include 3 crap games that you will never play, and then there are those that don't... and are cheaper.

right womb jag is having a bit of a joke, the 6800 is Nvidia's anwser to the x800. thus it's about £300+ .

Just to clarify, I admit im an nVid fan over ATi, I've always used their cards. when i only had £40 to replace my GF2 i got an FX5200 which i admit isnt the worlds greatest card, but for £40 i thaught it would do the job, that was a year ago and its still doing everything i need it to (altho i admit ive not tried doom 3 yet)

I fully accept that the ATi 9 series cards beat the nvidia FX series, but even so the FX series still did its job... now though the GF6 series has made such a leap from the FX series i'm sticking with nvidia for a while longer - and when i say a jump, initial tests showed they were twice as good!

This time around nvidia and ATi are very close, but I decied to go with ATi this time (I have been a Nvidia person up till now) due to the price of a ATi is cheeper, it requiers less power, it only takes one slot, and I can overclock it better (built in overclocking tool that watches the temp and canges the speed of the card based on it).

Not sure how the 6800 (GT I think it is) compairs with the 9800 pro thou.

2 things to make sure when you buy a 128 9800 pro 1st and most importantly buy one that has memory chips configured in a L shape this version has 256 bit wide memory, the one with the memory chips configured in I configuration has 128 bit wide memory and is pants the Sapphire Atlantis Radeon 9800 PRO 128 MB is an example of this card avoid at all costs. 2nd this ones a bit of pot luck there are 2 types of core processors used in the 9800 r350 and r360, the r360 can be flashed to full 9800 xt. the one ive brought is Connect3d ATI Radeon 9800 PRO 128MB it has the L configuration memory + the r360 core and cost 140 all in from www.ebuyer.com. the main weak point of this card is that it has standard heatsink + fan but since im water cooling it doesnt bother me.
